Meet the team: Anna Madge

Anna-Madge

What are you enjoying most about your role at Yada?
I love meeting women, hearing their stories and enabling them to feel heard and valued. It’s such a privilege to be a part of each woman’s life, whatever her circumstances or experiences of the sex industry.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
A walk, especially now the sun is shining. It’s great to take a break and reset before getting back into work mode again.

What’s one thing that surprised you whilst working at Yada?
I have learned how difficult the fight sadly is for ‘women-only spaces’ in the areas we work in and for those spaces to feel safe, welcoming and have longevity. Women, especially those who may be vulnerable due to housing or social-economic reasons, deserve to have these female-only spaces where they can seek refuge and support.

What is your favourite place to be?
That’s tough - abroad mostly, exploring a new place! Sadly that won’t be happening any time soon, so I’ll stick to the Southdowns and wonderful country views with my husband and our dog.

Who’s your biggest inspiration?
I’m not sure if I have one particular person to look to for inspiration. Just seeing my colleagues and fellow partners strive for better services for local people is inspiring.

What three traits would your friends say to describe you?
I would hope: kind, always up for a laugh and a good friend.
